About Me

(I'm the one in the Sunglasses, by the way...)
My name is Greg Armstrong, but everyone I know calls me "Skippy." I design interactive experiences for the entertainment, education, and/or stimulation of others. I've been making video games since middle school; It's not just a job, or hobby; It's my life's work!
I started out on a TI-82 calculator, and when I moved up to high school I was exposed to C++ and 2D image editing software (Photoshop, Illustrator). In College, I spent a great deal of time learning the ins and outs of Maya and how it interacted with game engines. For my senior project at George Mason University I built a level using Unreal Tournament 3.
I recently graduated from the University of Central Florida's graduate school of game design: FIEA (Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy). While at FIEA I learned how to delegate tasks, manage people, and work on cross-disciplinary teams; in addition to technical skills such as scripting, level construction techniques, and dialogue/trigger editing. I also acquired side skills needed to get the job done, such as making place-holder assets, audio recording, and source image collection.
I now live in Southern California, where I began my career as the lead designer of an iOS poker game, Duel Poker. While here I have learned several new skills such as profit projection and AI Design. I've chosen to pursue a career in the game development arena because I want to dedicate my life to making things that are entertaining; not because they are required to live, but because they are a reason to live.
